Setting up Voluum in Mediahub Exchange

Learn how to:
  1. Append the proper parameters and macros in the Voluum campaign link
  2. Creating the Mediahub Exchange postback in Voluum

1. Parameters and macros in the Voluum campaign link
Voluum is a little different with the naming of parameters, compared to platforms like Cake or HasOffers. In Voluum, you’re able to set up all the information when creating a Traffic source. You’re able to name the parameters to your liking and assign the parameters the corresponding Traffic Macros. This makes life easy when you create a campaign with that specific traffic source. All parameters and macros will automatically be appended to the campaign link.

Here’s an example of a Traffic Source setup for Mediahub Exchange:

Copy this in the External ID Placeholder {mh.ipaddress}.{bannerid}.{random}.{zoneid}.{mh.hash}

2. Creating the Postback URL:
While we are collecting a lot of information from all our parameters in the link, the one we care about the most is the ClickID, or in this case; External ID.

Insert the Volume macro into the Mediahub S2S link like so:
http(s)://www.trk3r.net/s2s.php?dp={externalid}

That’s it! You now are collecting valuable information from Mediahub that you can view in the Voluum platform, and you can also track conversions in Mediahub because of the S2S setup.

Pro Tip:
Why not create a dCPM campaign. Basically, advanced algorithms will automatically create campaigns for zones (traffic sources) that perform well, and remove the ones that suck. This is for the advance user wanting to scale efficiently, and squeeze every sale they can.
